| Sovena Portugal. |
The Sovena Consumer Goods Portugal's factory, located in Barreiro, is the largest refining and bottling facility for edible oils in Portugal. This was key to making the company the leader in the Portuguese market.
It is one of the most modern European factories in this area, where some of the most important Portuguese vegetable oils, olive oils and soaps are produced, such as Fula, Oliveira da Serra and Clarim.
The factory has a daily refining capacity of 350 tons of sunflower oil and 320 tons of soy oil. Every day, 90,000 liters of olive oil and 650,000 liters of seed oil are bottled in various formats and sizes. It also produces 40 tons of soap. Nowadays, Sovena Portugal is the company with the highest share in supplying the Portuguese and PALOP (Portuguese ancient colonies of Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Vert, St Tome & Price) markets, and is responsible for the production of 80% of the consumed seed oil in Portugal and 50% in the PALOPs.
